Baharieh Rouhani Ma‘ání

Baharieh Rouhani Ma‘ání is a Persian Bahá’í who has written several books related to the Bahá’í Faith.

Background[edit]

Ma‘ání was born in Shiraz into a Bahá’í family with her ancestors being among the earliest Bábí's and Bahá’ís of Nayriz. She completed her schooling in Shiraz and studied Persian literature at the University of Shiraz then pioneered to Nairobi, Kenya, in 1960 where she married Manouchehr Ma‘ání.[1]

In December 1971 Ma‘ání was invited to serve at the Bahá’í World Centre in Haifa and she served in several capacities until August 2009 when she moved to the United States settling in Washington D.C. She currently serves on the faculty of the Wilmette Institute and continues to author books and articles in English and Farsi.[1]
